Common questions About Ceramic Coatings

Myth 1: Ceramic coatings are permanent solutions

It would be great if any paint enhancement investment could be permanent; however, they are not. Even the longest lasting ceramic coatings may need a topper OR need reapplication depending on what they are exposed to. Myth 2: You do NOT need to wash your ceramic coating

The maintenance needs of a ceramic coating are much less intense than an uncoated vehicle; however, there appears to be a common misconception that a vehicle with a ceramic coating becomes COMPLETELY maintenance-free. This is NOT true. Ceramic coatings do make it more difficult for water and grime to stick to their surfaces; however, they do NOT eliminate the need for regular cleaning or detailing done at a pro detailing shop. It may stand between defects and your finish, but it is NOT scratch-proof.

  • Removal of Paint Defects

    Once your vehicle is immaculately clean and we have identified any defects, we at Cayman Window Tinting now can address them and correct them with paint correction. The likes of swirl marks, scratches, stains, and other defects are what we are looking to get rid of, using our tried-and-true buffing and polishing methods to level your clear coat. In certain situations, additional paint correction steps may be necessary to ensure that the ceramic coating adheres properly to the paint.

  • Hand-Applied Ceramic Coating Formula

    Each ceramic coating package here at Cayman Window Tinting is hand-applied to vehicles that come to our detailing shop! Our skilled application method consists of manually applying your chosen ceramic coating package to individual panels of your vehicle. Using specialized applicator pads, we meticulously conform the flexible ceramic coating formula to every contour of your vehicle’s exterior surfaces, including wheel faces and exterior metal trim pieces. We then carefully level the coating on each panel to ensure a uniform, smooth surface that enhances clarity, color richness, and an immaculate surface shine.

  • The Ceramic Coating Curing Process

    Now, we arrive at the final stage of installing the ceramic coating package you select. This involves allowing time for the coating to cure at our detailing studio, which in turn allows a bond to form on a molecular level with the vehicle's surface.
